To finish off our Thursday night, here is the low down:

A lot of us went to the malls to do a little shopping/walking around. In the malls...or in stores...or on the street, it is very common to get stopped and interviewed by the local kids in the school. It's actually an assignment for them to interview people like us when they see us to practice their English. Questions include: Name, age, where we're from, if we like the Indonesian food, what we like best about Indonesia, how long we are staying, hobbies, etc etc. It's quite cute and they almost interview us in aw or are shy! And they've always ended the interview with Facebook (don't you just love social media, it's so universal!). A lot of us have become friends with these interviewers on facebook now! And even kids from the camp who looked up our roster online! They even posted a picture (which they take after the interview as proof to their teacher). Below is one of Kacie, Kaitlyn, and Melissa after an interview with two girls. They requested to be our friends then tagged us in this picture!
After our relaxing/shopping, we all ate dinner which consisted of chicken and rice! When then only had about an hour to prepare for our basketball game! We started our game at 8pm, so we did a little warm up with some layin's, shooting, passing. Let me tell you.... most of us (minus Emily and a few others) really should stick with soccer... Basketball is not our game. Maybe we had a bad shooting day...or maybe we just aren't good at shooting, but we didn't come out with the W that night... We were tied after the first quarter which was a victory in itself! Emily got a ton of ooohhhs and aawwwss with some amazing moves she did. I think she may of had a fan club of Indonesian watchers! However, despite the loss, we all had an amazing time! It was so much fun, lots of laughing and sweating. Seriously, see picture below, we almost all were covered in sweat. The other team enjoyed it too, especially after draining four 3's in a row and winning by double digits :). After the game, we got homemade doughnuts and frozen yogurt! We realized that doughnuts is a normal occurrence after events and we aren't complaining!

Pep talk before the game!

Blocking shot or getting owned? You decide.

Seriously....if this picture isn't the epitome of cute, I don't know what is. Some of our biggest sweaters: Katie H, Kacie, and Amanda.

Events from today!

We got to sleep in an extra hour till 8am. However, most of us were awoken again at 4am by the Muslim call of prayer. It's quite loud, we all believe there is a speaker right outside our windows, but that's really not the case. Anyway, breakfast was delicious as usual, see picture below! An omelete with little hotdogs!

After breakfast, we all headed back to our rooms to change into our swimsuits: we were headed to Waterbom, a beautiful water park in Jakarta. It was a lot of fun, so hot outside. A lot of us got some pretty good sun burns. Don't worry, we (some of us) put sun screen on before! We also got to experience our first soda pop since being in Indonesia. It was very refreshing. For some, like Amanda and Benny, it was extremely refreshing.

One of the rides, the Hair pin. A favorite to almost all!

A view of the water park, so beautiful.

After we got back from the water park, we went straight to our rooms to grab our cleats. Since us soccer girls played a basketball game, it was only fitting that the basketball girls play us in soccer! We played one 25-30 minute half and won 5-0. After the first half, the bball girls were pretty spent as were we, so we decided to end the game there! They did a fantastic job and were very good sports. While they didn't get one shot on Kaity Men, they still played super hard and had a ton of fun! (Picture to follow next time).

I'm going to have to cut this blog short. The Times bookstore is closing up! I'll leave you with a picture of Jakarta from our trip back from the water park.

PS- Shout out to the Corban Softball Team. Playoffs are today, 12pm vs Southern Oregon! Kick some butt!
